Rates with strings attached
These apply only at a specific brand, or need something beyond how you spend, like a balance held with the issuer or a status tier. They are real, but we do not count them in the value above, which uses the rates any cardholder earns on ordinary spending.
| on British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Iberia flight purchases | 3.00% |
Statement Credits
Each credit shown at full face value. The NAV math counts the total. What you actually use is your call.
| Up to $600 Reward Flight Statement Credits: Receive statement credits of $100 for Economy and Premium Economy - or $200 for Business and First Class seats - three times per year, up to $600, when you book a Reward Flight travelling on British Airways and pay taxes, fees and carrier charges with the British Airways Visa Signature® Credit Card.yearSource ↗ | $600/yr |
| Travel Together Ticket: Earn a Travel Together Ticket every calendar year you make $30,000 in purchases on your British Airways credit card. Valid for two years when you redeem Avios for a flight on British Airways for a companion traveling on the same flight, or use it for a 50% discount on the Avios price you pay when booking a solo reward flight.yearSource ↗ | $400/yr |

Why this differs from the issuer's headline number. Card marketing sums every credit at full value and assumes you use all of them. We count each credit at face value too, but only the ones shown above. A credit you won't use is worth $0 to you, so the honest number for most people is lower than the brochure. Decide which ones fit your life; the calculator counts what you tell it to.
Signup Bonus
Earn 75,000 Avios after you spend $5,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.
Value: $750 · Spend $5,000 in 3 months
This bonus is counted in full in the card's Year 1 value, and only when your spend meets the requirement. It's excluded from the ongoing value.
Who This Card Makes Sense For
- People who reliably pay their balance in full each month. The 27.74% APR would wipe out the card's other benefits within a single billing cycle of revolving.
- People who will spend $1,667 a month for the next 3 months anyway — that clears the $5,000 required for the $750 bonus, which covers the $95 fee and then some in year one.
- People whose flights are mostly with JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association. The 3.00% is where this card beats a general-purpose one, and it only applies to that spending.
